Daniel
Working Student in the Division Projects
Hi Daniel, thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback. Could you briefly tell us about your background and why you wanted to join us?
I am currently in the withdrawals of my master’s degree in logistics. In view of my upcoming Master’s thesis, I am currently doing a three-month internship in sales and projects at MotionMiners in Dortmund. As I have already completed several internships in larger companies and corporations, I deliberately chose the internship at MotionMiners. This allowed me to gain my first experiences and impressions in the world of start-ups and to get to know the daily work routine in a young company. I found the technological background of MotionMiners very exciting.
How does working in a start-up differ from working in a larger company?
After starting my internship, I quickly became aware of the differences to my previous internships. Not only the work content, but also the culture within the company. The tasks are very broad and range from current, customer-specific topics to longer-term analysis tasks. Customer visits and integration into ongoing projects are also part of the internship right from the start. On my second day of work, for example, I was already familiarised with the exchange of hardware at a customer. During the internship, you quickly take on responsibility and can organise your time for the various tasks independently and flexibly. Furthermore, due to the flat hierarchies and the relaxed working atmosphere within the young team, you are encouraged to ask questions openly and to get involved in considerations and discussions beyond your own tasks.
What do you particularly like about working at MotionMiners?
Overall, working at MotionMiners is very varied because of the different tasks. There are only a few standard tasks and as a result of the various customer projects, I gain valuable insights into the logistical processes of different companies. Personal tip: existing foosball experience is definitely helpful for a successful day in the office.
What’s next for you in the future?
After the internship, I will continue to work at MotionMiners as a student trainee and write my Master’s thesis on the side. I can flexibly arrange my weekly working hours. The topic was already known to me before the internship. Since MotionMiners’ products are constantly evolving, I will work on how the solutions offered can be improved with additional elements in order to generate added value for customers.
